Paul Hayler is an experienced senior engineering manager with over 30 years of experience in the aviation industry. With a Business Degree from Queensland University of Technology and multiple aircraft maintenance type ratings, Paul began his career as an aircraft maintenance engineer with Qantas Airways. During his time at Qantas Airways, he gained experience in various engineering roles including, Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Operations Management in Asia, Low Cost Carrier Start up in Japan, Maintenance Operations Control management, Line and Base Maintenance planning, MRO sustainability, data analytics and project management.
In 2014, Paul joined QantasLink as an senior engineering manager. In this role, he oversees a team of engineering operations managers, Duty Technical Managers, and analysts responsible for the Continuing Airworthiness Management, strategic planning and On Time Performance management across multiple Regional turboprop and jet fleets within the Qantas Group. He is responsible for developing and implementing intra-entity engineering service models to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. Additionally, Paul manages budgets, evaluates vendor proposals, and ensures that all engineering activities are completed on time and within budget.
Paul has a passion for aviation and enjoys keeping up with the latest trends and technologies in the industry. He is a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association, and regularly attends conferences and seminars to stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in aircraft engineering and maintenance.
