Lachlan Kilby is an emerging aerospace engineer recognized for his technical expertise and innovative contributions to the industry. Born in Longreach, QLD, Lachlan's early passion for aviation was sparked by his father, a mustering pilot. After completing a Bachelor's in Engineering from the University of Queensland in 2014, Lachlan gained invaluable experience through an internship at Airbus Defence and subsequent roles at Hawker Pacific and other aerospace firms across Australia.
In 2021, Lachlan earned the CASR 21.M design and certification authorization from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority, underscoring his commitment to excellence in aerospace engineering. His entrepreneurial drive led to the founding of Javelin Aerospace Group in 2022 on the Sunshine Coast, QLD. As the youngest outright Instrument of Appointment Holder in Australia, Lachlan has skillfully navigated complex regulatory environments, leading his company to rapid prominence.
Under his leadership, Javelin Aerospace Group has been nominated for the 2024 Australian Aviation Awards in two categories: Start-up of the Year and Aviation Support Business of the Year.
