With over 25 years of experience in the Australian aviation industry, Toby has developed a deep understanding of both line and base maintenance. As a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME), he worked with regional organizations such as National Jet, Regional Express, and Airnorth, gaining comprehensive expertise across a diverse fleet of both modern and aging aircraft.
Toby's career saw significant growth during his 17-year tenure with Alliance Airlines. He joined the company when it was a small charter operator and played a key role in its transformation into one of the world's largest ACMI providers. After holding several leadership roles, Toby served as the General Manager of Engineering for a decade. In this role, he led a national team of 250 staff, overseeing line and base maintenance, component workshops, and an extensive logistics network. Toby was also instrumental in expanding and maintaining the world’s largest Fokker fleet and facilitating the smooth introduction of the Embraer E190 into the airline’s operations.
Since leaving Alliance Airlines, Toby has transitioned into high-level consulting, advising various Australasian airlines. His focus has been on enhancing Part 145 AMO and Part 42 CAMO processes and structures, ensuring clients meet evolving regulatory and industry standards. Toby’s extensive project management experience has also proven invaluable in supporting customers with their growing operational needs.
