Reece Clothier is the President of the Australian Association for Uncrewed Systems (AAUS), Head of Aviation Safety and Regulatory Affairs OCEANIA within Boeing’s Global Safety and Regulatory Affairs team, independent Board Member for the Flight Safety Foundation Australia Ltd, and Honorary Associate Professor at RMIT University. Reece has a Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Aerospace Avionics) and PhD in the design and certification of Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS).
Since 2005, Reece has played a key role in national and international forums shaping the regulation of the UAS and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) sectors. He was a founding member of the AAUS Board in 2009, and since then, has helped AAUS develop into Australia’s peak national industry association for emerging aviation. Dr Clothier also holds positions on the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Aviation Safety Advisory Panel, General Aviation Advisory Network, and Uncrewed Systems Advisory Network.
